Color & B&W; Book cover decorations are by Margaret Armstrong. This book is in Very Good- condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends, corners and edges of the book covers have bumping, rubbing and fraying. There is a one inch tear to the cloth of the dust jacket at the top front spine joint which has been repaired. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, though there is some scatttered foxing throughout. The rear endpapers have a two inch spot of darking / spotting (bottom corners of rear endpaper and rear pastedown page. Illustrated throughout with full color edge decorations by Harrison Fisher, along with several full page, black and white illustrations. "Paul Leicester Ford (March 23, 1865 - May 8, 1902) was an American novelist and biographer, born in Brooklyn, the son of Gordon Lester Ford and Emily Fowler Ford (a granddaughter of Noah Webster and lifelong friend of Emily Dickinson)."
