1 Johnson, Dorothy M (edited by A. B. Guthrie, Jr.) THE BLOODY BOZEMAN The Perilous Trail to Montana's Gold
New york Mcgraw Hill Book Company 1971 0070325766 / 9780070325760 1st Edition; 1st Printing Hardcover Very Good+ in Very Good+ dust jacket
B&W Photographs; Spine ends & corners of book cover have extremely light bumping & rubbing. Black cloth covered boards have gilt lettering to spine and front cover of book. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are a light tan color. Front endpaper has a large rectangular shadow made up of glue residue from a sticker. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. Top edge of dust jacket has a couple of tiny nicks and there are a couple of small spots of dirt. Rear dust jacket has one lightish vertical crease which covers the entire length of the dust jacket. Overall, a very good+ copy. "The Bozeman Trail was the road to the gold in Montana. It led only to Montana, up from the great transcontinental Emigrant Trail, and it was blazed only after gold was known surely to be there for the taking. The Bozeman Trail was for a kind of man who was new in wilderness Montana, the man who came in hopefully out from the States to better his condition. This new man was not a born adventurer, but in his stubborn, sometimes cautious way he was a gambler."
