New York Harcourt, Brace & Company 1937 5th Printing Hardcover Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket Illustrated by George F. Avison
B&W Illustrations; This book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Very Good Dust jacket. The spine ends and corners of the book cover have a bit of light bumping and rubbing and beginning fraying / nicking. The text pages are clean and bright. The front endpaper has a previous owner's penciled name at the top edge (neatly). The text is illustrated with four black and white plates (including the frontispiece) by George F. Avison. The price clipped dust jacket has some light edge wear, rubbing, nicking and several chips missing along with some generalized fading. The bottom spine end of the dust jacket has been chipped off all the way across the spine (in depth, its less than half an inch, but it is quite noticeable). "At Miss Carter's exclusive school on the Hudson, Raquel, the cowgirl from Texas, met with smiles and sneers. But back home riding the range, gentling a broncho or rounding up cattle, she was the pride of her father's ranch.
