Color Photographs; Children's Book. Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. An oversized hardback book with white, illustrated covers and white and yellow lettering. Spine ends of book cover have some light, but noticeable bumping and beginning edge wear. Text pages clean & bright. Front endpaper has one small smear of what appears to be chocolate (or something brownish). Previous owner's bookplate pasted on front pastedown. Translated by Albert Read and Christine Sapieha. Overall, a nice bright copy. --Far out at sea, among a hundred other islands, lies an island called Saltcrow, and on Saltcrow there is an old red house called Carpenter's Cottage. A little girl known as Skrallan lives there, but only in the summer. In winter she lives in town. No one remembers her real name--.

B&W Illustrations; Young Adult novel. Spine ends & corners of book cover have extremely light bumping & rubbing. Purple paper covered boards have gilt lettering to the spine of the book. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are fully illustrated. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of very ight bumping & rubbing. Top edge of the dust jacket (all the way around) has some tide marking / foxing that looks like water spotting (it's more visible from the reverse of the dust jacket where it looks more noticably like foxing). Overall, a very nice clean bright copy. Translated from the Swedish by Evelyn Ramsden. "Three small farmhouses are within tree-climbing reach of each other, and in them live six lively children - three girls and three boys. They have birthday treats, shorten the long journey to school by walking along the tops of the walls, sleep out in the barn, plan to run away, build a playhouse and get lost in the snow."
