Spine ends & corners of book cover have extremely light bumping & rubbing. Black cloth covered boards have gilt lettering to spine of book. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are a solid off-white color. There is some very beginning toning to spine hinges where endpapers meet. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. Top front edge of dust jacket has several very small edge nicks & tears along with some light rubbing and edge wear. Bottom front edge of dust jacket has two small semi-closed edge tears and some nicking. Front spine joint has some light, but noticeable rubbing. Top spine end of dust jacket has a couple of small chips missing. Rear top edge of dust jacket has a small edge tear with a tiny triagular chip missing along with some light rubbing and ground-in dirt. Spine of dust jacket has one small scratch, rubbed spot. Overall, a very good+ copy. "Large-boned, dark, long-faced, and inclined to be sour; intelligent rather than subtle; the sort who'd prefer a broad-axe to a rapier any day - Humphrey Neyland, Canadian, was definitely not the kind of man you'd expect to find working for the British counter-espionage. But although he was by no means infallible, he was, as his Chief told him, both impudent and lucky."
