Lamb, V.B. THE BETRAYAL OF RICHARD III London, England Coram Publishers, Ltd. 1959 1st Edition; 1st Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of extremely light bumping and rubbing. Black cloth covered boards have gilt lettering to the spine of the book. The text pages are clean & bright. There is a small, inked previous owner's name at the top of the front endpaper. Front and rear endpapers have a geneology of Richard III. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of bumping & rubbing. THere is a nicked edge tear to the top front edge of the dust jacket right over the title. The top dust jacket edge has several other small edge tears and nicks along with two small chips (one to the top spine end, the other to the top rear flap joint). The bottom spine end has some light rubbing, edge wear and beginning nicking. The rear dust jacket cover has toning, especially around the edges. Overall, a very nice solid copy. " The purpose of this book is to examine very briefly the foundations on which one of the most famous legends in English history has been built... Rather do I wish to trace the growth of the traditional legend from its conception through the main accepted sources, and to emphasize the doubtful nature of the basis upon which this elaborate and apparently circumstantial story was built - a story which has been widely accepted as incontrovertible over a period of nearly five hundred years."
