First American edition. Previously published in the UK both as a Times Supplement and a hardcover. This book is in Very Good+ to Near Fine - condition. The book is bound in green cloth with gilt lettering and decorations to the front cover and spine of book. The spine of the book has noticeable fading / sunning. The text pages are clean and bright. This book was originally issued with a glassine dust jacket, which is, unfortunately, missing from this copy. "I think it prudent to go no nearer to the date, in case what I am writing should take an ill turn or fall into curious hands. I need not be so guarded about the weather. It is a night of sudden blasts that half an hour ago threw my window at me." This book deals with the supernatural and is a quasi-ghost story which has vampiric undertones.
