This is a pamphlet with thin cardstock covers. The item is in Very Good+ condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The covers have some light sunning / toning and there are a couple of tiny nicks and rubbed spots to the edges. The text pages are clean and bright. Strange de Jim is / was a real person who would send tidbits of information / humor / San Francisco stylings to San Francisco Chronicle columnist Herb Caen -- De Jim became slightly famous for his quips and for the fact that he remained anonymous by wearing a pillow case over his head when doing any publicity during the 1970's. This particular thin, self published volume contains excerpts from quotes that made it into Herb Caen's columns through the years -- some of the quotes are funny, others enigmatic, and still others are all out strange. This is more an ephemeral piece that helps indentify a time and place (the time being the 1970's, the place being San Francisco).
