This book is in Very Good+ condition and has a Very Good dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. There is some beginning toning / sunning to the very edges of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. The front pastedown page has some rubbing and light paper lifting where a previous owner's bookplate was removed. The price clipped dust jacket has noticeable toning / darkening to the edges and spine along with some light edge wear to the spine ends. There are several small edget nicks and tears and a small chip missing from the top spine end. "Sam Bissell is a young man with everything a young man needs: a lovely wife, an up-and-coming job in a San Francisco advertising agency, a respectable house across the Golden Gate, and a fairly elastic sense of humor." This book was made into a major motion picture featuring Jack Lemmon as the title character, along with Romy Schneider and Mike Connors.
