Color Illustrations; Children's Book. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. Illustrated, paper covered boards have black lettering to the spine and front cover of the book. There is a slight backwards slant to the spine of the book and a tiny nick / beginning tear to the bottom front spine joint of the book cover. The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket is crisp and clean. "In the gardens of Versailles the courtiers act a play before Louis the Fourteenth, the Sun King. Dressed as proud, handsome trees they parade before the King boasting of their virtues and arguing amongst themselves as to which of them should be King of the Trees. It is the orange-tree who asks the ladies of the Court to choose the King Tree and he is as much surprised by their choice as the rest of the actors."
