Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of extremely light bumping and rubbing. Red paper covered boards have gilt lettering to the spine of the book. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are a solid white color. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. There is one small tear to the bottom front flap joint which has some associated beginning wrinkling. The top front flap edge has some light rubbing and a beginning nick. There is a very small wrinkled edge nick / tear to the top rear edge of the dust jacket as well. This book was the winner of the American Book Award. "The Red Magician is the tale of Kicsi, a young girl in a backwoods Eastern European village in the early 1940's, a hamlet so isolated that the villagers know nothing of the brewing war - have no hint of the future save for ominous dreams.
