Color Illustrations; Children's Book. A Review copy. Spine ends & corners of book cover have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. The bottom corners of the book cover have some light bumping and beginning cracking. Illustrated paper covered boards have red and black lettering to the front cover and black lettering to the spine of the book. Top edges of book cover (both front and rear) have some beginning toning /darkening due to sun damage. The text pages are clean and bright. Endpapers are a solid dark orange color. Publishers review card laid -in. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of very light bumping & rubbing. White paper of dust jacket has darkened around the edges and all along the spine. There is some ground-in dirt and a couple of small spots of discoloration. Bottom front corner of dust jacket flap has been clipped. Bottom spine end of dust jacket has some light wear and nicking. Corners of front dust jacket flap have some light wear & beginning chipping as well. Overall, a very good+ copy. "Oh, it was hot. It was so hot that the noise of a parade hurt Sara's ears and ice cream melted before she'd had barely a taste. Daddy couldn't come to take her to the beach. Mama was too busy writing a poem to notice anything else. Finally Sara decided to take her little sister to the park, but Elizabeth got lost, dripped ice cream over everything, and ended up in tears." This is an early title for Martha Alexander (somewhat early, her first appearances in print as an illustrator date from 1966.)
