The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. Illustrated, brown cloth covered boards have black lettering to the spine and black lettering and decorations to the front cover. There is some light rubbing and beginning bumping to the spine ends and corners of the book cover. The text pages are clean and bright. This book was later filmed as THE WESTERNER starring Gary Cooper. "Roy Bean wrote deeply into the history of the Southwest. Without realizing that he was doing anything materially out of the ordinary, he established himself without authority, save his indomitable spirit and two six-guns, as Law in that vast and lawless domain between El Paso and the Pecos River and proceeded to live the most amazing career in the later history of the Southwest."
