SIGNED EDITION. First US combined edition & first hardback edition (most of the stories were previously published in magazine format). Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of extremely light bumping and rubbing. Green paper covered boards have a blue cloth spine with gilt lettering. There is some beginning sunning to the very bottom edge of the book cover (all the way around) and some very beginning rubbing to the bottom edge as well. The text pages are clean & bright. Signed in black ink on the title page by McGrath: "For Ryan / All the best! / Patrick McGrath / Berkeley / May (?) 1998". Also included is a laid in newsletter from Dark Carnival (publisher). Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of very light bumping & rubbing. There is a hint of beginning toning to the top front edge of the dust jacket and the front flap top edge as well. The edges of the text block have some beginning toning also. Overall, a nice bright copy. Included are the short stories: The Angel, The Lost Explorer, The Black Hand of the Raj, Lush Triumphant, Ambrose Syme, The Arnold Crombeck Story, Blood Disease, The Skewer, Marmilion, Hand of a Wanker, The Boot's Tale, The E(rot)ic Potato, and, Blood and Water.
