1 Young, Miriam A BEAR NAMED GEORGE
New York Crown Publishers 1969 1st Edition; 1st Printing Hardcover Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket Illustrated by Harold Berson
Color Illustrations; Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. Blue cloth covered boards with black lettering to spine and black decoration to front cover of book. Text pages generally clean & bright. A couple of pages have wrinkles which appear to be from the publisher. There is one small tear to rear endpaper by spine, however, it appears that it may have been part of a publishing fault where the string binding didn't get pulled properly. Previous owner's name inked on half title page. Rear endpaper has two smallish fingermarks. Text pages alternate with black and white and color illustrations. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping, rubbing & edge wear. Dust jacket has several smallish, to medium sized edge tears, some rubbing, bumping and light edge wear along with a small patch of color rubbed from front dust jacket right at author's name. Bottom front corner of dust jacket flap has been clipped (though not the price which is in the upper corner). Dust jacket flaps have some noticeable rubbing right at hinges. Overall, a very good- copy. --George is a teddy bear who knows he is not a girl, but Ellen always calls him Elizabeth, and stuffs him into prickery party dresses, and even worse, tight ballet tutus. George isn't at all happy doing plies and arabesques--. Miriam Young is also the author of Miss Suzy.

2 Young, Miriam IF I RODE AN ELEPHANT
New York Lothrop Lee and Shepard 1974 0688515894 / 9780688515898 1st Edition; 1st Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket Illustrated by Robert Quackenbush
Color Illustrations; Children's Book. Spine ends & corners of book cover have extremely light bumping & rubbing. Illustrated, cloth covered boards (in a heavy library style binding -- but this is NOT an ex library copy) have pink lettering to spine and pink decoration to front cover of book. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are a solid white color. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. Dust jacket has been price clipped. Rear dust jacket cover has a diagonal tear that covers nearly the entire length of the dust jacket -- and it has been repaired by a former owner with tape on both sides of the dust jacet. Unfortunately, the tape is not removable without damaging the book further. Edges of dust jacket have some rubbing and wear as well. Overall, a very nice clean, bright copy -- and except for the tear and repair, the dust jacket is in very nice condition as well (I know, that sound's rather like an oximoronic thing to say, but it is quite nice overall). "Who could resist a ride on an elephant? And how can you spot the oldest and wisest elephant of all? In a new addition to this exciting series, a child imagines all the wonderful possibilities of elephant-riding: performing in a circus, guiding a safari, leading an Indian wedding procession, building a road, or maybe just playing in the water."
