Color Illustrations; Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of extremely light bumping and rubbing. Brown cloth covered boards have gilt lettering to the spine and dark brown decorations to the front cover of the book. Text pages are clean, bright and without chips, tears, discoloration or wear. Endpapers are a solid mustard yellow color. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. There is one small chip missing from the bottom front flap joint of the dust jacket and several very small edge nick / tears to the top rear ege of the dust jacket. There is some light rubbing to the rear dust jacket cover and one small brown spot of dirt to the top edge of the front dust jacket. Overall, a very nice clean copy. "If you speak to your husband or your wife, if you have an opinion about your boss, if you've ever met a friend for a drink, it is possible that you are in this book. It has 29 drawings, each with a facing page of calligraphic text, recording conversations, spoken and unspoken, by both animals and humans. Any humans who recognize themselves in these candid candent views will laugh." This is author Tallon's first published book. Tallon went on to continue writing / illustrating for both adults and youth -- he is best know for his cover art work for the New Yorker Magazine.
