B&W Illustrations; This book is in Near Fine condition and has a Very Good+ dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. There is one tiny nick / tear to the top spine end of the book cover and some light fading / toning to the bottom spine end of the book cover. The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket has several small edge tears and a shallow chip missing from the top spine end. There is some light foxing to the reverse of the dust jacket spine. "A boy has to ride sometimes, or he would burst in pieces! Twelve-year-old Dirk, a son of the plain people, dearly loved his family and would not have traded shoes with any city boy. But, still, the ways of his people wer so - this way exactly and no other way! It was hard to want to ride a horse so badly he could taste it, and to have to forego the pleasure because a horse is to work."

B&W Photographs; Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of extremely light bumping and rubbing. Green cloth covered boards have yellow lettering to the spine of the book (very Green Bay Packers). The text pages are clean and bright. Endpapers are a solid white color. Illustrated throughout with black and white photographs of Lombardi and the players he worked with. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. The black dust jacket has some light, but noticeable (because it's black) rubbing to the spine joints and flap joints. There are a couple of small edge tears and nicks to the dust jacket as well. Overall, a nice clean, bright copy. "Vince Lombardi: His Life and Times is more than just another behind-the-scenes look at pro-football. It tells how Lombardi's philosophy was shaped during his youth and those frustrating years of obscurity before his unprecedented success.
