The spine ends and corners of the book covers have a bit of very light bumping and rubbing. Cream colored paper covered boards have a purple paper spine with gilt lettering. The text pages are clean and bright. Endpapers are fully illustrated. The spine ends and corners of the dust jacket have a bit of very light bumping and rubbing. Overall, a nice bright copy. "The year is 1667; SIr Francis Courteney and his son Hal are on patrol in their fighting caravel off the Agulhas Cape of South Africa. They are lying in wait for one of the treasure-laden gallens of the Dutch East India Company returning from the Orient. So begins a quest for adventure and and the spoils of war."

The spine ends and corners of the book cover have extremely light bumping. Blue paper covered boards have a dark blue paper spine with gilt lettering. There is one small spot of rubbing to the area where the lettering is located on the spine of the book. The text pages are clean and bright. Endpapers are a solid white color. The bottom edge of the text block has purple remainder speckling. The spine ends and corners of the dust jacket have a bit of very light bumping and rubbing. There is some beginning rubbing to the bottom edges, the spine joints and the spine ends of the dust jacket. The rear dust jacket cover has some lightly ground-in dirt / rubbing. Overall a nice clean, bright copy.
