Philadelphia, PA Westminster Press 1958 Possible First Edition Hardcover Very Good+ with no dust jacket Illustrated by Tasha Tudor
B&W Illustrations; Possible 1st edition, however impossible to tell without a dust jacket. Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of extremely light bumping and rubbing. Green cloth covered boards have green lettering to the front cover of the book. There is a bit of beginning ground-in dirt. The rear cover of the book has some brown spots / discoloration to the top corner. The text pages are clean & bright. Illustrated throughout with both full color and black and white illustrations on alternating pages. Endpapers are fully illustrated. Overall, a nice bright copy. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And God sai, - Let there be light - ; and there was light. And God called the light Day."

Color Illustrations; Children's Book. Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. Cream colored paper covered boards with blue cloth spine and black lettering to spine and black decoration to front cover of book. Text pages clean & bright. Endpapers are illustrated. Front endpaper has previous owner's name inked on top inside corner by spine hinge. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping, rubbing & edge wear. Dust jacket has several small edge tears and nicks. Bottom spine end of dust jacket has two tears (one to each joint) along with some edge wear & associated radiating small tears. There are two tiny pokes to top front spine hinge of dust jacket also. Overall, a very good+ copy. "In Corgiville, as in many small towns all over America, the biggest event of the year is the Fair. ANd the most exciting thing at the Corgiville Fair is the goat race."

Color Illustrations; Children's Book. Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. An oversized hardback book, approximately twelve inches tall by nine and one quarter inches wide. There is no dust jacket, as issued. Bottom rear spine of book cover has a one inch long semi-closed tear to the paper covering which has been carefully repaired and is not too noticeable unless it's looked for. There is some associated bumping and rubbing to bottom spine end of book cover also. Paper covered boards have red and purple lettering to front cover of book and both front and rear covers of book have been fully illustrated. Text pages clean & bright. Endpapers are illustrated. Overall, a very good copy. "Joy and peace are a state of mind, easy for some to come by, difficult for others. This book pictures a few of the things that have brought, and still do bring, intense joy to me. This is not a storybook - it has no peculiar beginning, no end, and definitely no message. It is merely a statement of delight, drawn from memory past and present." Tasha Tudor's illustrations are, as always, very delicately drawn, with light, but vibrant colors and simple themes of joy in the basics of nature, animals (especially corgis) and youthful activities of all sorts.

There is one crack / tear to the top front spine joint of the book cover which is approximately one inch in length -- the crack does not go through the spine. There is some edge wear, rubbing and light paper loss to the spine ends and corners of the book cover. The front endpaper has a previous owner's inked gift notation dated 1967. The text pages are clean and bright.
