New York Harper & Brothers 1958 0060261803 / 9780060261801 Possible First Edition Hardcover Very Good with no dust jacket Illustrated by Tomi Ungerer
Color Illustrations; Children's Book. This is a possible First edition, but without the dust jacket it is impossible to be sure. The book and contents are in very good, clean condition. Illustrated, paper covered boards have red and black lettering to the front cover of the book. The top spine end of the book cover has some rubbing and loss of color to the cloth. The edges of the book cover have some rubbing and wear (especially the bottom front corner and a small spot to the top front edge of the book cover. The text pages are generally clean and bright, but with a few stray fingermarks . The endpapers are a solid off-white color. There is a previous owner's inked name and date of 1959 on the front pastedown page. "Once upon a time in a little French town lived an old lady whose name was Madame Louise Bodot. She had one son who was in Africa studying reptiles."

Color Illustrations; Children's Book. Spine ends & corners of book cover have extremely light bumping & rubbing. Illustrated, laminated paper covered boards have black lettering to the spine and black and red lettering to the front cover of the book. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are a solid green color. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of very light bumping & rubbing. There is one small chip missing from the top spine end of the dust jacket along with two tiny nicks / bits missing from the bottom front edge of the dust jacket by the front flap joint. Overall, a nice bright copy. "Mr. Zeno Krall and his wife Colza are a happy, expectant cat couple. But when their baby boy is born, to their great surprise he is a dog!"
