B&W and Color Illustrations; This is an oblong paperback book with cardstock covers and a spiral binding. The book is in Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. Both front and rear covers have noticeable staining and foxing along with moisture wear. The text pages are generally clean and bright. With the exception of some toning / burning to the edges of the pages which do not affect the cartoons. "Carey Cassius Orr (January 17, 1890 Ada, Ohio May 16, 1967) was an American editorial cartoonist. In his youth, Orr was a semi-professional baseball pitcher, and he used the money he made from baseball to study at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. After a $15 a week job at the Chicago Examiner, he was 24 when he began at the Nashville Tennessean as a full-time editorial cartoonist. In 1917, he signed on with the Chicago Tribune, where he stayed for 46 years. He drew the Kernel Cootie comic strip." "Joe Parrish grew up in Dickson, Tennessee, where his father was a coal dealer. Parrish decided he wanted to be a cartoonist while he was in high school. He taught himself to draw and gained a position as cartoonist for the Nashville Banner when he was 20. In 1929, he moved to the Nashville Tennessean as an editorial cartoonist. In 1936, he became the chief editorial cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune until his retirement in 1970. " "Daniel Edward Holland (19182009) , commonly known as Ed Holland, was an American editorial cartoonist. Holland spent the bulk of his career with the Chicago Tribune...After leaving the military, Holland took a position with the Chicago Tribune, where he remained for the rest of his career apart from one four-year stint with the Washington Times-Herald (19501954). He was promoted to chief editorial cartoonist at the Tribune in 1972 and retired in 1975."
