"The Amphicar Model 770 is an amphibious automobile, launched at the 1961 New York Auto Show, manufactured in West Germany and marketed in the United States from 1961-1967, with production having ended in 1965. Designed by Hanns Trippel, the amphibious vehicle was manufactured by the Quandt Group at Lübeck and at Berlin-Borsigwalde, with a total of 3,878 manufactured in a single generation. A descendant of the Volkswagen Schwimmwagen, the Amphicar offered only modest performance compared to most contemporary boats or cars, featured navigation lights and flag as mandated by Coast Guard — and after operation in water, required greasing at 13 points, one of which required removal of the rear seat."

Included are: 1.) A small blank notepad with an illustration of an Amphicar at the top edge. 2.) A group of 23 newsletters from Gordon Imports, Inc. Specializing in Amphicars. 3.) Two staplebound Price Lists (2010/2011 & 2013/2014) from Gordon Imports, Inc. For Amphicar parts, etc. 4.) One newsletter from the International Amphicar Club (written in German). 5.) A small file folder with 3 pages of "tech tips", along with an introductory letter, regarding tips for using / modifying an Amphicar. 6.) A Maintenance Manual for the Amphicar (Model 770). It's unbound, held together with a clip. The covers have soiling and finger dirt. The manual includes a previous owner's plastic edge label holders (small) for ease in finding chapters. 7.) A Parts - Special Tools Manual for the Amphicar (Model 770). Also unbound and held together with a clip. The front cover is a photocopy but the interior pages appear to be original. This book also includes a previous owner's plastic edge label holders (small) for ease in finding chapters. 8.) There are a couple of miscellaneous pages of material relating to the Amphicar. 9.) Several photographs - two professionally taken, two amateur, and one postcard, all showing Amphicars. The two professional photos are Christmas gifts from the Amphicar club: the first photo is of an Amphicar on the assembly line, the second shows President Lyndon B. Johnson floating on the Pedernales River in his Amphicar - he enjoyed offering guests rides in the car at his ranch. The amateur photos are from a friend who took some photos of an Amphicar as it drove by. All photos are in Very Good clean condition.
