Blue cloth covered boards with red lettering to spine and black lettering to front cover of book. There is a very slight slant to spine of book and bottom spine end of book cover has some beginning rubbing and wear. Text pages clean & bright. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. Dust jacket has several small edge tears (mostly semi-closed) with a bit of light bumping and some beginning dirt to white dust jacket covers. Overall, a very good copy. Translated from the French by Moura Budberg. Original published in England as Maigret and the Minister. --Very much against his grain, Mairgret becomes involved in political intrigue, a world he dislikes, distrusts, and actually fears. Orange paper covered boards with white cloth spine and black lettering. Text pages clean & bright. Top edge of book has a faint ink stamped date on top edge of book. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping & rubbing. Dust jacket edges have several small edge tears and some nicking and wrinkling (mostly to spine ends of dust jacket). Overall, a very good copy. --Maigret one day receives an anonymous letter written on extravagantly splendid stationary. Without giving further details, it states that a murder will be committed shortly and pleads for Maigret's help--. ; S. Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. Text pages clean & bright. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping, rubbing & edge wear. Dust jacket has several small edge tears, nicks, chips and dings. There is a small shadow from a price sticker to bottom front edge of dust jacket and there is a smallish jagged tear to rear dust jacket flap. There is a small black ink star to the left side of read dust jacket and an embossed matching star on book cover, but these are NOT remainder marks. Overall, a very good copy.
