Early trade edition (the notation for Harpers shows this to be a 1913 printing). Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. Front cover has a pictorial pastedown which is in generally very good condition, but does have some edge wear and nicking to the outside edges of the pastedown. Spine of book has no lettering at all. Text pages clean & bright. The book does include an illustrated frontispiece (Hitchcock is the last name of the illustrator...I can't make out the first name & there's no designation on the copyright information). Overall, a very good copy. --At Santa Ysabel del Mar the season was at one of those moments when the air rests quiet over land and sea. The old breezes were gone; the new ones were not yet risen. The flowers in the mission garden opened wide; no wind came by day or night to shake the loose petels from their stems--.
