Later state edition with NO dedication page. Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of very light bumping and rubbing. Blue cloth covered boards have gilt lettering to the spine of the book. There is some very beginning sunning to spine ends & top edge of book cover. Text pages are clean & bright. Endpapers are a solid red color. The spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping, rubbing & edge wear. There is one scratch to the spine of dust jacket by the end of the title, several very small edge tears & some generalized rubbing to black covers of dust jacket. ( a fairly common fault with this color cover). Overall, a very good+ copy. "Mailer's hero is D. J. - eighteen-year-old genious; combination Holden Caulfield, Huckleberry Finn, and Jack the Ripper; disciple of William Burroughs and the quickest cerebral gun to come out of the wide-open spaces since Marshall McLuhan. From the hearf of old rawhide whipped up with the cream of Dallas Country Clubbing comes D. J. and his father, Rusty - on their way inot the wilds of Alaska, where a man's not a man until he's got himself the head of a just dead bear."
