Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. Orange cloth covered boards have black lettering to spine of book. Bottom front corner of book cover has a small but noticeable bump. There is some light ground-in dirt to edges of book cover. Text pages clean & bright. Endpapers have the Harper torch illustration in a greek style pattern. Spine ends & corners of dust jacket have a bit of light bumping, rubbing & edge wear. Black absorbent paper dust jacket has some light dirt and rubbing. Rear dust jacket is a cream color and that has taken on a noticeable amount of dirt and some light yellowing / spotting. Edges of dust jacket have several small edge tears and nicks. Bookstore price sticker (from the 1960's) is adhered to front cover of dust jacket and is not removeable without damaging the book. There is one small spot of color lifted from spine of dust jacket where another price sticker was removed. Overall, a very good copy and actually in better condition than it sounds. --...created this novel of citizens of Leningrad - that gallant and beautiful -Northern Palmyra- which Peter the Great built as his window on the west. The Lodestar is Irena Galina, daughter of pre-Revolutionary liberals, a woman of such generosity and pride, such fire and passion that she must be loved or hated--.
