Spine ends & corners of book covers have a bit of light bumping and rubbing. Tan cloth covered boards have blue lettering on front cover and spine of book. Covers have a bit of lightly ground-in dirt and fingermarks. Text pages clean & bright. Front endpaper has one small dark yellow spot which has a tiny bit of lifting / fuzziness to the paper. Overall, a very good copy. A narrative poem about California --Up from ancient Acapulco / Two years after fifteen fort / Came Cabrillo beating northward, / Sailing for the Spanish Viceroy, / Heading for the Great Unknown / Like the other mighty Latins, / Like Columbus and Magellan, / Vasco de Gama and the Cabots--.
