This book is in Near Fine condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a scratch to the top edge of the text block that has dinged several pages slightly. The dust jacket has several edge tears, some rubbing, edge wear and chipping (especially to the spine ends). There is a noticeable crease / wrinkle to the front dust jacket cover by the top spine joint which appears to be a publishing error. The rear cover of the dust jacket has some light toning / darkening. "To Kitty Kennedy, lusciously beautiful and virtually alone in the brutal England of George III, fate was not kind. Darrell was her man, that she knew; and to Darrell she gave herself with abandoned rapture. But, before their union could be sanctified and their coming child given a legal name, a Navy press-gang put an end to his freedom and their hopes. " Jean Plaidy is the pseudonym of Eleanor Hibbert, who is better known as Victoria Holt. This is the author's first book (published under this name).
