Mr. Allen covered the major aviation events in this country, first as a reporter for The Cincinnati Commercial Tribune from 1921 to 1923, and then as a reporter and aviation editor on The New York World, The New York World-Telegram and The Herald Tribune. Much of his career was spent on The Tribune, where he served from 1923 to 1941 and 1946 to 1953."
